Dec 29, 2014. #2. It's not an expensive mod, but its also kind of fallen off in popularity. When I started modding my jetta the EGR delete was just part of the recipe. These days removing that system is much more uncommon. Keeping the EGR has an advantage in that the engine coolant heats up quicker.

an option to do all of that, after you have scrubbed the built up crap on the inlet side would be to remove the air inlet pipe after the turbo, hold a wall paper stripper near it and allow it to suck the steam in whilst the car is at a good 2.5k revs for half 20 mins or so, final step, blank the EGR valve. 1.

This post relates to my Audi A3 2011 2.0 tdi black edition (11 plate) I have recently gotten an engine management light and having had the opportunity to get a fault code reader to look at it, it mentions the DPF and EGR valve. I'm thinking that perhaps this is clogged and requires cleaning. I wanted to have a go at this, but being an absolute
Location. Canada. TDI. 2002 mk4 golf. Nov 12, 2020. #16. It's not that I can't fabricate my own blanking plate. It's just that the egr delete kit comes with a straight pipe and a blanking plate already hence I did not make one because I plan to take out the egr valve and cooler too.
Golf mk5 1.9 tdi. Egr valve engine management light. Wanting a little advice really. I have engine management light on and in display says emitions garage. I've had code read and it's the egr valve. Now what's better do about it. Take the egr valve off and clean?
First, the pressure of the exhaust gas must be relatively high, as the EGR is taking exhaust off from the manifold section in between the cylinders and the turbo. This then means that if the egr valve and bypass flap are both open, high pressure exhaust will actually displace intake air in the total air intake charge.
The reason for asking is due to the EGR getting choked up on SWMBO's 1.9 tdi. The engine mgmt light comes on, VW want something like £900 for a new one or £200 to clean the old one out and the forums warn that even doing that might leave you with a faulty one.
Lift the EGR clear from the car. Manoeuver the throttle body around and also withdraw the yellow clip slightly. Unplug the connector and withdraw it from the car. Clean out the area arrowed - use a screwdriver to break it up and a hoover, make sure none goes into the intake, you want it out, not in. Attachments.
This is the EGR valve in the 1.9 TDI 115 HP WV Sharan engine. The car has driven 270,000 turbo and does not take oil. The best solution is to plug the pipe t
Going through the faults of the car . the car has no faults other then the bumper that was hurt . so i decided to quickly check the EGR Valve
The coolant hose that goes from the side of the cylinder head to the EGR cooler can be bypassed. Instead of going to the EGR cooler, connect the hose from the cylinder head to the plastic "Tee" that's in front of the tandem pump. Normally that "Tee" connects to the other side of the EGR cooler (small hose).
Anyway, it cleaned right up. When I went to put it back on the car, I get an EGR code. 17808 - EGR Valve (N18) P1400-000 Electrical Malfunction. The car's been without battery for a long time while I had the tranny off, waiting for a clutch. Taking the tiny cap off, everything underneath looks perfect.
